The eye of the storm

Team meeting
Neither wind, nor rain deterred the Team’s enthusiasm for our second official face-to-face team meeting hosted by the University of Melbourne on the 25th & 26th September. Two days of active conversations on the future of the project predominately focused on the development of our EBP optometry online resource & embedding EBP teaching strategies into curricula.

Half way there!
The evidence based practice (EBP) optometry Project is making fantastic progress on its aim to ensure that Australasian graduates of optometry have the skills and the knowledge needed to be evidence-based practitioners.
Our team of 14 people representing Australasian Optometry Schools & EBP experts are thrilled to report that we are nearly half way through our 2-year, OLT funded project and well on track for a successful project completion in December 2013.

Cochrane Colloquium
The EBP Optometry Project was an active contributor to the 20thCochrane Colloquium, where more than 500 participants explored all aspects of evidence synthesis over 4 days, including 49 workshops and 68 oral presentations. EBP Optometry gained many new supporters andour poster on identifying EBP teaching strategies was well received.
